Reflective parts and repeating textures seem like an inextricable scanning puzzle. Indeed, these two points are the challenges that many 3D scanners face. But with Artec Leo 2022, capturing this axle shaft and its rich details in just 10 minutes requires Leo's new technology and some of its aids. Since the entire part is a reflective surface, we used a matting spray for quick capture of all surfaces. The second difficulty - repeating textures, was also easily overcome. The same pattern on each surface, along with continuous lines and ridges, made it difficult to distinguish the different surfaces, but with the addition of marker points, this problem was solved, and the problems of alignment and overall registration were solved.
If you look closely, you will find that this seemingly simple bridge is actually very complex, but every detail and sharp edge is completely captured and rendered in high-definition. Rotate the model and you can see the power of Artec Leo 2022's new features: power, precision and visibility.
